Latent Heat

Whereas we can measure Sensible Heat by thermometer, Latent Heat is not measurable but it is required to change the status of substance. For instance, while 180BTU/LB sensible Heat are required to boil the water from freezing temperature (0C to 100C), The latent heat needed to change the status of the boiling water from 100C liquid to 100C vapor will be 970BTU/LB which is more than 5 times bigger than the other.

This rule can be applied to the status change of society I believe. If we need to make 180 units of our efforts to initialize a revolution, we have to put  5+ times more (immeasurable) efforts to complete it.
